EVC-Certified Beginner Level Gasoline ECU Tunin...

Description EVC-Certified Beginner Level Gasoline ECU Tuning using WinOLS – SEMA Las Vegas, USA – training course detail Location: Las Vegas, USA – venue convenient for airport and convention centre Dates: Friday 31 October – Sunday 2 November 2026Language: Course will be delivered in EnglishLevel: BeginnerFuel Type Focus: Gasoline onlySoftware Focus: EVC WinOLS VIEZU Technologies and the VIEZU Technical Academy return to Las Vegas and SEMA for 2026. Fit your training from leading experts around the show. The lead trainer for this gasoline tuning training event is renowned UK-based tuner and tuning trainer Simon White – technical director and managing director of VIEZU Technologies. This is expert practical training from real-world tuners. This is an intensive course, pitched at Beginner level. This will take you from a basic WinOLS user level and build on that, to give you more confidence in your WinOLS gasoline tuning and calibration, and higher level skills and techniques that you can use straight away. This SEMA in-person event is perfect for WinOLS beginners – whether you’re a file developer wanting to extend your knowledge in WinOLS, or a tuner with experience in other platforms. If you have already completed Basic level in-class WinOLS training with VIEZU, or if you have completed the first 4 VIEZU Training Academy online training modules for WinOLS gasoline, then you have the knowledge needed for this SEMA in-person course. If you need any VIEZU training to help you prep for this SEMA course, then contact us on [email protected] or on 44 (0)1789 774444 – we can discuss your requirements and get you set up. Group sizes are small on our courses, so we are able to tailor content to your needs. We encourage you to contact the lead trainer Simon White in advance to discuss any specific topics you would like to cover. For example, if you work with particular vehicles or engines, we can include these in our example projects on the course. Detailed course overview    Day 1 – ECU Structures, Map Strategies & Using Existing Database Files  What’s covered: Gasoline ECU logic and structure across major platforms (Bosch ME/MED, SIMOS, MG1/MD1, Delphi, Denso) Key gasoline map groups: airflow/load, AFR/lambda, spark timing, knock control, torque/throttle Identifying and grouping maps using WinOLS patterns and structures  Using existing tuned files from your WinOLS database:  Comparing stock vs tuned files  Selective import of map changes  Adapting tunes across similar software versions  Clean project management with mappacks, comments and versioning  You will learn: How gasoline ECUs calculate load, fuel and ignition timing How to quickly identify the core tuning maps for NA and turbo petrol engines How to reuse and adapt existing calibrations through WinOLS import/compare features  How to build clean, professional project structures ready for full calibration work   Day 2 – AFR, Ignition, Knock, Boost & Hardware Tuning (Stage 2 / Hybrid Turbo / Injectors)  What’s covered: Power enrichment and AFR control strategies for performance tuning Spark advance mapping, octane-based maps, and knock control logic  Turbo calibration fundamentals: load/boost targets, airflow modelling, boost limiters  Hybrid turbo mapping: spool behaviour, top-end flow, safe boost shaping and torque requests Larger injector tuning: scaling flow/latency, maintaining stable trims and AFR targets  Stage 2 tuning with high-flow catalytic converters:  Effect of lower backpressure on VE, spool and fueling  Maintaining safe AFR, spark and EGT boundaries  Driveability adjustments for performance setups and upgraded hardware You will learn: How to tune AFR/lambda maps for power, safety and driveability How to optimise ignition timing while managing knock risk across the rev range  How to tune turbo and hybrid-turbo gasoline engines in WinOLS safely and effectively  How to scale and manage larger injectors without drivability issues  How to build a coherent Stage 2 calibration that supports high-flow cats and other hardware upgrades    Day 3 – Complete Workflow, Hardware-Aware Planning & Dyno/Log Refinement  What’s covered:  Full calibration workflow for NA, turbo and hardware-upgraded gasoline engines  Building projects using database imports, then layering hardware-specific changes  Pre-tune checks: trims, knock learn, airflow plausibility, diagnostic readiness  Reading dyno and log data: AFR/lambda, knock retard, boost, load, spark stability  Identifying issues with hybrid turbos, injector limits, AFR mismatches or timing corrections  Refining a tune (v1 → v2) using real data Final project documentation and clean WinOLS versioning You will learn: How to build a complete gasoline calibration from a stock file to a finished tune How to integrate existing tuned map data with additional changes for Stage 2, hybrid turbos and larger injectors  How to use dyno/log data to refine AFR, spark, boost and torque strategies like a professional calibrator How to produce clean, safe, well-documented WinOLS projects ready for real-world use   Learning outcomes of the course  By the end of the 3 days, you will be able to:  Confidently identify, understand and tune gasoline ECU map groups Build and organise WinOLS projects at an intermediate professional level  Modify AFR, spark, knock, boost and torque maps for both stock and upgraded hardware  Tune Stage 1 to Stage 2 setups including high-flow cats, hybrid turbos and larger injectors  Use dyno/log data to validate and refine your calibrations  Deliver complete, safe and well-structured gasoline calibrations   Prerequisites and what you need to bring with you You need to bring a laptop with genuine up-to-date EVC WinOLS software installed and running smoothly. You will need the full version of WinOLS – the demo version does not have all the features you need for the training. You can purchase full version WinOLs software on the VIEZU Technologies website.   Who this course is for: Tuners with experience of other platforms, who want to start using WinOLS File developers who want to extend their knowledge into tuning and WinOLS WinOLS beginners Pre-qualify yourself – is this course right for you? Do you have an understanding of key tuning variables such as airflow, load, ignition timing, lambda, knock, and turbo boost? Are you working on Bosch ME or MED/SIMOS/MG1 or MD1/Delphi/Denso ECUs? If the answer’s ‘yes’ to the above – you’re ready. If not, reach out and let us help you pick the right entry point to develop your knowledge. You can email us or give us a call. We are happy to talk with you and discuss your individual training needs, to help you build your tuning skills and grow your tuning and calibration business. Phone: 44 (0)1789 774444 Email: [email protected]
